# Refactoring, FINALLY!

By Roy Osherove October 27, 2003 In [.Net Original](https://osherove.com/blog/category/net-original)

**Historical article** · Originally published October 27, 2003; technical details may be outdated.

If there's one thing that stood out for me from the Whidbey screenshots, it's this:

[![Powerful new code refactoring](https://osherove.com/img/wb/e5e843fa_asp.net_whidbey_images_Refactoring_sm.gif)](http://asp.net/whidbey/images/ShowImage.aspx?id=40)

FINALLY, some refactoring support! Hopefully, this is just the beginning. The Whidbey team should take notice of the amount of refactorings available in products such as IntelliJ IDEA, which I've just [written](http://weblogs.asp.net/rosherove/posts/33538.aspx) [about](http://weblogs.asp.net/rosherove/posts/33541.aspx) a few posts ago, but I like the way this is going!
