# No plans for a Sourcesafe.Net tool in MS future

this is one thing i forgot to say in an [earlier message](http://dotnetweblogs.com/ROsehrove/archive/02102003.aspx#2143).

Appearently , accroding to the MSFT rep. that [talked](http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/productinfo/roadmap.asp) to [us](http://www.renaissance.co.il/ivbug/),VSS will only be enhanced , but nothing more. there will not be a more robust version of it, or nothing like the more professionl Version Control systems like rational or PVCS.
