# Writing Articles Is Hard!

By Roy Osherove May 10, 2003 In [Off Topic](https://osherove.com/blog/category/off-topic)

**Historical article** · Originally published May 10, 2003; technical details may be outdated.

I'm currently in the process of trying to write an article to be posted on my blog. Its on a bigger scale than the others I already have posted before, and I must admint it's a bigger task than I imagined. One of the things I am confronted with is explaining basic concepts in a way that someone who does not know them already can learn and understand them . It's pretty darn hard putting myself in that place, since writing about things that seem trivial to me makes me keep skipping stuff, and then having to go back and add it.

I salute those who write these things. I never knew it's such a pain. I would gladly like to read any advice you may have on the subject and how to approach this in a more structured manner. Any tips, tricks or otherwise - I promise to listen!
