# Improving Typed Datasets

By Roy Osherove May 30, 2003 In [.Net Original](https://osherove.com/blog/category/net-original)

**Historical article** · Originally published May 30, 2003; technical details may be outdated.

[Shawn Wildermuth](http://www.ondotnet.com/pub/au/1048) has an [article](http://www.ondotnet.com/pub/a/dotnet/2003/03/31/typeddatasetannotations.html) over at [OnDotNet](http://www.ondotnet.com/) which further illuminates some of the problems with Typed Datasets, and some of the solutions to those problems. It focuses mainly on several annotations in the XSD schemas . If you read [my posts](http://weblogs.asp.net/rosherove/stories/956.aspx) about Typed Datasets, [Shawn's article](http://www.ondotnet.com/pub/a/dotnet/2003/03/31/typeddatasetannotations.html) is a good continuum for the series.
