# \[New Article\] Support Application Plugins 2 - Dynamic Plugin Search

By Roy Osherove May 30, 2003 In [.Net Original](https://osherove.com/blog/category/net-original)

**Historical article** · Originally published May 30, 2003; technical details may be outdated.

_"**Summery**:_

_This article is an extension to_ [**_my previous article about plugins_**](http://dotnetweblogs.com/rosherove/story/7610.aspx)_._

_The last article showed how one can create a plug-in architecture for the application. One of the comments I got on that article mentioned that it should be possible to rid the user of the need to register any custom plugins inside the host Application’s **config** file._

_That comment also mentioned how one would go about this. Reading this, I’ve decided to take the challenge and extend my previous demonstration and make the example application search dynamically for plugins within its own directory."_

The article is [here](http://weblogs.asp.net/rosherove/story/8048.aspx). I'd appreciate any comments you may have. Enjoy :)
