# \[New Article\] Using Regex and The XML Classes To Parse Your Log Files

Phew. My new article is up. It's my first one for the O'Reilly network, and my first "real" article ever. You could say I'm a bit excited :)

"**Summery**:

_Most systems these days can generate log files to store data about the activity of the system. What about when you are asked to transform all of that data into usable information? I will show you how to use regular expressions and .NET's XML classes to turn your log files into a dataset to allow you to search, sort, and report on your data._"

For now, it's on the top of the page over at [OnDotNet.Com](http://www.ondotnet.com/) with a cool graphic and everything. Here's the permalink to [article itself](http://www.ondotnet.com/pub/a/dotnet/2003/06/09/parsinglogs.html).

Have fun :)

p.s:

I'd love to hear constructive criticism, if you have any.
