# Women Rule

By Roy Osherove June 11, 2003 In [Off Topic](https://osherove.com/blog/category/off-topic)

In Respose to [Julie's post](http://weblogs.asp.net/jlerman/posts/8526.aspx) about women in tech, I must say that in Israel, I think the situation is better, although not by much. I think about 30% or a bit more of the software developers I know are women. I (again!) think it's because women here are expected to serve mandatory time in the military, and thus are considered more "equal" in some ways, and are also less shy about clawing their way into male society.

Personally, I think women are better thinkers than men ever will be. It's a biological thing ;)

My wife is able to watch TV,listen to the radio, talk to her friends on the phone and play with the cat all at once. I can't even watch TV and chew gum without special assistance. (Oops!, there goes my shot at a Microsoft job...)
