# .Net Rocks with Brent Rector

By Roy Osherove August 13, 2003 In [.Net Quotations](https://osherove.com/blog/category/net-quotations)

**Historical article** · Originally published August 13, 2003; technical details may be outdated.

Mark and Carl talk with [Brent Rector](http://www.wiseowl.com/) about **intellectual property**, namely assembly and application obfuscation: techniques used, and the resultant binaries. They also talk about **Remoting** and get Brent's take on the value of Remoting. This is not the same old stuff either! The big gem in this show, we think, is Brent's 5-minute description of how **Code Access Security** works, which we immediately recognize as something very special.
