While I promised myself I would not go down the linky road that [Mike Gunderloy](http://www.larkware.com/) has managed to turn into an art form, here I go just the same.

- [Jon Galloway points](http://weblogs.asp.net/jgalloway/archive/2004/01/03/47380.aspx) to useful [classes](http://msdn.microsoft.com/vcsharp/team/code/libraries/default.aspx) and libraries posted by the C# team on MSDN. Cool.
- [Steve Eichert shows](http://dotnetjunkies.com/weblog/seichert/posts/5145.aspx) us an elegant way to do some basic (and not so basic) rule validation on objects. A nice idea. You should also read the comments on that post.
- [](http://radio.weblogs.com/0001011/2004/01/03.html#a6043)[Scoble](http://scoble.weblogs.com/) points to  [Andy King's Web Site Optimization site and book](http://www.websiteoptimization.com/).
- [Jason Salas](http://weblogs.asp.net/jasonsalas/archive/2004/01/03/47259.aspx) points to [www.googleguide.com](http://www.googleguide.com/) to learn the more advanced features available via google
- [Scott refers](http://scottwater.com/blog/archive/2004/01/03/IsDebug.aspx) to Jeff Key's small [IsDebug](http://www.sliver.com/dotnet/IsDebug/) utility, and recommends you check out [the rest of Jeff's babies](http://www.sliver.com/dotnet/). I agree. some neat stuff.
- [Rachel discovered](http://weblogs.asp.net/rreese/archive/2004/01/02/47242.aspx) a nice article: [Interactive Mapping Using SVG & ASP.NET](http://www.15seconds.com/issue/030630.htm)
- Ever since I read Joel's [Biculturalism](http://www.joelonsoftware.com/articles/Biculturalism.html) article (Unix Vs. Windows programmer mentality) I've been wanting to get this book that Joel highly recommends: [The Art Of UNIX Programming](https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0131429019/ref=nosim/iserializable-20) (or you can read the book [online](http://www.faqs.org/docs/artu/))
