# Get your resource kit (and disregard the kit name)

By Roy Osherove February 19, 2004 In [.Net Original](https://osherove.com/blog/category/net-original)

**Historical article** · Originally published February 19, 2004; technical details may be outdated.

The [ASP.Net Resource kit](https://osherove.com/blog/2004/2/19/The%20ASP.Net%20Resource%20kit%20is%20now%20available%20for%20download.%20Don't%20ask%20any%20questions,%20just%20download%20it.) is now [available for download](http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=aef6aa76-ab88-4264-87b4-8e946ef584d7&DisplayLang=en). Don't ask any questions, just download it.

Oh, and if you haven't downloaded the [VB.Net resource kit](http://msdn.microsoft.com/vbasic/vbrkit/), you should. Really. **Even if you only do C#**. It contains free controls(that usually cost a lot of money) and other cool stuff.

Did you let yourself be fooled by the names? you should have learned by now that .Net is not about names, it's about the framework. That's why even though there are about 5 different user groups in Israel that deal with .Net(C#,VB.Net,Web...and so on) you benefit from each and everyone of them no matter what you actually do with .Net. Because, you guessed it, it's all about the underlying framework. Know the classes and you have your ticket to success. Syntax is just icing on the cake.
