# \[CoolTool\] BlogWave: Scheduled RSS feed generation and publishing from multiple sources

By Roy Osherove July 22, 2004 In [Cool Tools](https://osherove.com/blog/category/cool-tools)

**Historical article** · Originally published July 22, 2004; technical details may be outdated.

Addy Santo has just published a first alpha of what seems to be a pretty cool tool: [BlogWave](http://weblogs.asp.net/asanto/archive/2004/07/21/190667.aspx). Some very cool screenshots and a download link is included. Here are Addy's words:

“_This is an alpha (read: mostly functional and sort of stable) version of a tool which enables scheduled generation and publishing of RSS feeds.  This allows, for example, publishing Sharepoint lists and libraries as RSS feeds with no modifications needed to the Sharepoint server._

**_BlogWave Feature List:_**

- _Generate RSS feeds based on a variety of inputs:_
    - _WSS lists/libraries_
    - _Existing RSS files or feeds_
    - _Additional input sources are planned, such as Sharepoint searches and aggregated feeds._
- _Publish the generated feeds to different destinations:_
    - _Local/network locations_
    - _.Text based blogs_
    - _WSS libraries_
    - _FTP sites._
- _Schedule the generation and publication with a flexible scheduling system_

- _Set which days of the week, what hours, and how often should the generation take place_
- _Set user credentials and advanced options such as running even with no logged-in user or running only when idle._“

Coolness!  I think I'll use this for some of the SPS sites I'm currently doing. Thanks Addy.
