# MSN Web Messenger - cool piece of work

By Roy Osherove August 5, 2004 In [Off Topic](https://osherove.com/blog/category/off-topic)

You know what? [MSN web messenger](http://webmessenger.msn.com/) is a **cool** piece of work. You don't have to install MSN messenger to use it almost like in real life. I love such amazing web work that looks like the real thing. Outlook web access 2003 does the same thing. Amazing GUI inside my browser. It _scares_ me to think how many man-years were spent on making the GUI behave in such a way though. Really creepy.

Isn't the next logical step a Smart Client Messenger? or Outlook for that matter?
