# SQL Injection Attacks by Example

By Roy Osherove January 13, 2005 In [Cool Articles](https://osherove.com/blog/category/cool-articles)

**Historical article** · Originally published January 13, 2005; technical details may be outdated.

[This nice article](http://www.unixwiz.net/techtips/sql-injection.html) details a step by step approach of what the author needed to do to try and hack some intranet site (by request). It then details all the mitigation steps needed to make sure something like that can never happen again. Enlightening.
