# Blogging about embedded software development

By Roy Osherove September 17, 2006 In [General Software Devel...](https://osherove.com/blog/category/general-software-devel)

**Historical article** · Originally published September 17, 2006; technical details may be outdated.

Beniot Asks "[Am I alone](http://www.benoitlavigne.com/blog/2006/09/17/am-i-alone/)?" when it comes to Blogging about Embedded Software development. He's talking about [hard core low level programming with C and C++ and Assembly](http://www.benoitlavigne.com/blog/2006/09/15/the-embedded-pathno-yellow-brick-road/) and what not, not about the .NET Compact Framework (I think he's not, anyway. It's a new blog).

From his blog:

> ".NET has news sites like [Larkware](http://www.larkware.com/), it has blogosphere celebrities like [Chris Sells](http://sellsbrothers.com/) , [Scott Hanselman](http://computerzen.com/), and [Larry O’Brien](http://knowing.net/)..."
>
> "... But what about the embedded world? Where are the high profile bloggers? [WindRiver](http://www.windriver.com/), [GreenHills](http://www.ghs.com/), [FreeScale](http://www.freescale.com/), [AMCC](http://www.amcc.com/) where are you? "

Indeed - where _are_ the major players here? or is there just not enough crowd that would be interested in such a thing?
