# ALT.NET == Pragmatic.NET

During the [ALT.NET](http://altnetconf.com/) conference people were clamoring for a different name simply because it creates lots of confusion and some people think it's divisive. I'm not sure about that, but I went ahead and proposed the name Pragmatic.NET or Pragma.NET (PragmaNet?).

In a sense this is the same idea behind the community, where you search for alternatives if you need to get better results, or compose an alternative solution from multiple tools.

I don't think this name will stick because ALT.NET has already caught on. But maybe I'm wrong.
