# iPhone is an Israeli Brand originally

Huh! the iPhone brand was actually [invented in Israel](http://coheda.typepad.com/israel/2007/01/the_original_ip.html). That's interesting to know, in a "we rule" kind of way. Then again, if you look at the original iPhone picture on that page then.. not so much ruling.
