[CoolTool] FinalBuilder 3.0 - the ultimate build management and automation tool

FinalBuilder is out with version 3.0
I first learned about this tool from Mike Gunderloy(Larkware) about a year or so ago.

This is one of the coolest and most productive tools I know to manage and execute automated builds and a multitude of other tasks relating to deployment, registration, file manipulation, configuration and logical output and notification.
One of the coolest things about it is that you can also add your own custom tasks to it - using .NET. they integrate fully into the "IDE" and that means you can pretty much do anything you like.

That's why, while I like them as a concept, I don't use tools such as Nant or MSBuild today  - the configuration is not as easy and seamless as it should be. To me that's one of the most important things - if you can't manage the build process easily you're wasting a lot of time and effort needlessly. And I mean *a lot*.

Another nice thing is that the amount of available built-in tasks is amazing. There are even tasks there to automate comparison and merging of SQL server databases (using SQL-Compare). That's very cool.

The newsgroup for FinalBuilder is very active and the developers are very responsive to change and feature requests from customers. That's an A in my book.

I've used this tool at customer sites on some relatively large solutions (120 projects configuration). It's amazing how productive it really can make you. And you don't have to be the worlds great XML expert to do it. Thank god.

Note: I am not affiliated with these guys. Just a happy customer.
