I you haven't tried "Hello" from Picasa, you should seriously give it a try. It's a way to share pictures and chat with your friends at the same time. Sounds lame but it's actually pretty nice.
You can also blog pictures directly from it (if you have Picasa along with it it's perfect) into a Blogger.Com blog.
Now, here's a cool tip I just discovered using Hello. Start a chat with a friend and send them a picture. Now, when the picture is in the preview pane, write any of the following:

See what happens.
